After operating her own catering business, Asparagusto Custom Catering, for two years,
Cheryl's first love, baking, brought her to the Metcalfe Market in 2005. An accomplished baker,
Cheryl soon developed a following for her savory shortbread, oatcakes, cranberry orange scones
and dynamite brownies and date squares.
Her love of baking follows in the footsteps of her Scottish ancestors who owned bakeries
in Scotland and in Toronto. Cheryl started baking at the age of 7, proudly baking treats in her “Easy Bake” oven.
Cheryl is pleased to take special orders for birthday cakes and loves to decorate theme cookies for the holidays.
The focus of Cheryl’s catering business, Asparagusto Custom Catering, has been business breakfasts
and lunches. She strives to make these meals more interesting, tasty and healthy.
The custom element includes menu planning to suit individual tastes and helping host events
by being on site to cook, serve, and tidy up.
